From I-78

Take Exit 41 ( Berkeley Heights/Scotch Plains) At the stop sign on the exit ramp, follow sign to Berkeley Heights. At the light, turn left. You are on Plainfield Ave. At second traffic light, turn left onto Springfield Ave. and go 2 blocks. Make a right onto Passaic Street. Pool entrance is the first driveway on the right.

How to Become a Member

Each person who is looking to join Berkeley Aquatic Masters must first register with United States Masters Swimming (USMS).  This is done to ensure the necessary insurance coverage required through USMS is received.  Contact your coach if you have further questions.

  • All levels of ability are welcome to participate.

  • Practices are coached by Pete Hockmeyer.

  • If you are from an out of state team looking to join us for a few days just stop in with your USMS membership card and show it to the coach.

Practice Schedule

  • First practice as a USMS and Berkeley Aquatic Master member is free

  • Each participant must register with Berkeley Aquatic Masters (BERK) to participate in the program.

  • Each practice is $5.00

  • All practices are subject to change without notice

Berkeley Aquatic Masters Vision Statement

To enable adults an opportunity to experience Berkeley Aquatic Club.  To provide an atmosphere of improvement in skills, building of strength and endurance, and develop a camaraderie among people of similar interest and goals.  Berkeley Aquatic Masters strives to bring adults together to work hard on improving oneself in the different levels of aquatic fitness.  Berkeley Aquatic Masters strives to condition each swimmer in accordance to their ambitions with competitive experiences in open water swimming, triathlons,  pool competitions, and other aquatic sports that utilize swimming skills and endurance.

Mission Statement

 

To promote fitness and health in adults by offering and supporting Masters swimming programs.

 

Goals and Objectives

  • To encourage and promote improved physical fitness and health in adults.

  • To offer adults the opportunity to participate in a lifelong fitness and/or competitive swimming program.

  • To encourage organizations and communities to establish and sponsor Masters swimming programs.

  • To enhance fellowship and camaraderie among Masters swimmers.

  • To stimulate research in the sociology, psychology, and physiology of Masters swimming.
