Background:
Jim
founded Berkeley Aquatic Club in 1977 and is the Head Coach. Prior to
his move back to New Jersey, he was the head Men’s and Women’s swimming
coach at the University of North Carolina. He is currently the
President of USA Swimming, after having served 12 years
as the Coordinator of the USA Swimming Olympic International Operations
Committee and as Technical Vice President for 4 years. Jim graduated from Johns Hopkins University and attended
graduate school at the University of North Carolina.

Background:
Tristan is the head age group coach at Berkeley. He graduated from
Loughborough University, England in 1994 with a BSc in Economics and
Accountancy and earned his MA in Physical Education, Sports and Coaching
Administration from Montclair State University in 2000. He coached
with the age group teams at Nova Centurion Swim Squad, England. Tristan
is an instructor with the Berkeley Swim School. He is a member of the
New Jersey Swimming Board of Directors, currently serving as Treasurer.

Background:
Eric has
been with Berkeley Aquatic Club since 1994 where he started as a swim
instructor with the Berkeley Swim School. Eric has been a member
of the coaching staff of Berkeley Aquatic Club since 1996. He
currently services on the New Jersey Swimming Board of Directors and is
a member of numerous USA Swimming Committees. Eric also spends his
time serving the community as a Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical
Technician in the State of New Jersey. Eric is also the 2006
recipient of the USA Swimming Adolph Kiefer Safety Commendation Award,
the 2007 recipient of the New Jersey Swimming Age Group Coach of the
Year Award and has served on USA Swimming National and Zone Select Camps
as head manager.
Marlene Curtis

Background:
Marlene joined the BAC
staff in 1995. Marlene has more that 25 years experience as a swim
instructor. She is an Associate Professor of Physical Education at Kean
University. Marlene also coaches at Echo Lake Country Club during the
summer. Marlene graduated from Calvin College with a major in
Recreation and Physical Education and earned her Masters at Columbia
University. Marlene served as the Director of Aquatics at the Union
YMHA.

Background:
Anna has taught at the Berkeley Swim School
for numerous years. She has also been a member of the coaching staff at
Berkeley Aquatic Club since 2002. Anna graduated from Alfred University in
Alfred,
New York with a major in Accounting. Anna has received a Masters in
International Business from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Background:
Elissa has been a member of the Berkeley Aquatic Club family for over
14 years. She swam on the first Snapper team and made her way to
swimming on the Senior team. She earned her varsity letter for 4 years
at Watchung Hills in swimming, and was captain her junior and senior
year. She went on to compete for Rutgers University, earning a BA in
Political Science and lettered all four years, ending her career as
captain. Currently Elissa is a teacher at Roselle Catholic High School.
Kevin Mahoney

Background:
Kevin
graduated from Lycoming College where he earned his BA in Sociology.
Kevin is currently a Health and Physical Education Teacher at
St. Joseph High School in Metuchen.
Kevin has coached the Varsity Swim Coach and Varsity Golf Coach of Oratory Prep. He was also the Athletic Director
from 1995 - 1997. Kevin has been the Varsity Swim Coach of Mount Saint
Mary Academy since the inception of the swim team in 1995. He currently
spends his summer at Roxiticus Country Club as the pool manager and swim
coach.
